Here is my handwriting sample for term 4. I am good at making my words straight.

I am good at keeping my words on the line.  I need to work on making my letters a consistent size.

Catching the Sun

Catching the Sun retold by Montana

Once upon time a brave Indian warrior named Saynday met a fat fox, big Deer and skinny magpie and they all said it's dark, cold  and freezing on their side of the world. They had to think up a plan to get the warm, gassy, sun from the Sun people on the other side of the world.    

So fat fox ran to the other side of the world then fat fox waited for the right time to snatch the sun from the Sun people.  When the Sun people weren’t looking, Fox snatched the gasy hot sun and he ran like lightning to Big Deer.  Big Deer galloped to skinny Magpie and threw the sun into Magpies s

harp claws. Skinny Magpie launched herself up into the sky then tossed the sun to Saynday. 

When Saynday got back to the dark inky black side of the world he threw the sun up to the blue black sky. Everyone felt really warm and happy that they had the hot, gassy sun up in the blue sky. Then the whole world stayed warm and it wasn't dark in the world.

Handwriting Term 3

 Here is my handwriting sample for Term 3.  I am good at making my letters the right size. I need to work on making my letters sit on the line. 

Creating a game

This week, to end our procedure writing topic we have been creating our own games . I made a snake and ladders game. My theme was through the jungle.

Maths Grid

 For maths we have been working on our basic facts. Everyday we do a maths grid of basic facts.

Procedure Writing

We have been learning how to write a procedure. I know a procedure has to have a title, materials and steps. My steps have to be in order and start with a verb.

 

                                    

Addition and subtraction problems

 We have been learning to solve addition and subtraction problems using place value. We had to complete these problems using this strategy. I feel happy that I can use this strategy.

This week we have been doing lots of learning about Matariki. We read different legends about the Matariki stars. We had to chose two legends and use a Venn Diagram to compare them.

For writing we had to write an Acrostic Poem and a Shape Poem about Rockets. We had to use descriptive language.

Pom Pom Germ

For Art we made pom pom germs using wool.  We gave our germs names and decided whether they were a good germ or a bad germ. 

Bubbles

This week we played with bubbles. We blew bubbles outside. Mrs Clarke had some really big bubbles. We used juicy words to write a piece of writing.
